WATCH: Modibodi Period Underwear Ad Banned By Facebook.
For years, society s outdated norms have led many to feel like periods are a taboo subject.
From frankly awkward nicknames like Aunt Flo (cringe), that time of the month, Lady Business and probably worse of all the Red Badge of Courage (for real, why would that be okay?) to having to hide tampons up our sleeves.
Oh, and FYI, trans-masc and non-binary people can get periods too. Menstruation isn’t just a biological woman’s issue.
The project was integrated by the Minister for Industries MC Sampath on Tuesday at the Koyambedu metro station. CMRL MD Pradeep Yadav was also present during the inauguration. Not only this but the CMRL, in a statement, also said that separate compartments have been allotted to women and to ease it further for the females, women-only toilets have also been set up at the metro stations. To avail the services, the commutes can issue tokens given to them at the metro stations.
An official, while speaking to a media house about the same said that apart from all this, CCTV cameras have also been installed and helpline numbers have been issued. He also said that the security staff has also been put in place. He further said that the sanitary napkin vending machines would help the women travellers to commute without any kind of discomfort.
